Here at Waitrose, we know how important it is to help our customers make nutritional improvements to what they eat and drink.

We have made great progress in reducing sugar from many everyday products, such as breakfast cereals and yoghurts, soft drinks and ice cream.

All our product redevelopment work and new product development includes a focus on how we can reduce sugar content as an important part of our nutrition strategy.

We will continue to offer more indulgent food and drink, but with enhanced, educational labels, meaning our customers can enjoy these alongside healthier choices.

Any reduction in sugar shouldn’t compromise the taste or quality of a product, so when we lower the amount of sugar in a recipe, it has to go to a taste panel to ensure its quality.
