The people of Apt in France have been making candied fruit for more than 700 years. Apt was renowned for its confections, even being called a "cauldron of jam" in a letter. Aptunion was formed in 1962, when a group of family-owned confectionary companies formed a union. It continues to be known for its candied fruit, preserves, and chocolate.
